I entered this election because I am concerned about the budget cuts facing education, public safety and local governments. Then you take the esimated budget short fall in the income and sales tax revenue projected for next year, this will only make these issues worse. These aren't unskilled positions, their our teachers, firefighters, police officers and government employees that help educate, serve and protect the public. People that have invested lots of time and money to get the education needed to provide a better quaility of life for themselves, us and future generations. We must continue to invest in education and innovation that makes for a stronger educated workforce.
We are the "Cross Roads of America" our state has the most logistic interstate system in the nation, were approximately a 24 hour drive from our nation's borders and overseas ports. We must continue to invest in the infrastructure of our highways, railways, airways and waterways, for economic development to prosper, which allows for job growth. We need smart planning that will allow rural community development to prosper, while preserving agriculture farmland. Infrastructure that will provide for economic development that allows for job growth. All while practicing fisical responsibility. I want smarter more efficient government not bigger.
Now is the time to choose a representative that will be a voice for the people, which will work to make this state a leader in the global economy.
